Day 1: Arrival in Costa Teguise
Welcome to Lanzarote. A transfer takes you from Arrecife Airport to your hotel in Costa Teguise. The remainder of the day is free to relax by the sea, explore the town or enjoy your first taste of Canarian cuisine.

Day 2: From Costa Teguise to Haría (33 km / 20.5 mi or 51 km / 31.7 mi)
Pink up your bikes after breakfast and start your journey through northern Lanzarote. Along the route you can visit several of César Manrique's most famous attractions, including the Cactus Garden, Jameos del Agua and the spectacular Mirador del Río. There is also the option to visit the volcanic cave system of Cueva de los Verdes. Passing fishing villages beneath the imposing silhouette of Monte Corona, you eventually reach the beautiful oasis village of Haría, known for its thousands of palm trees.

Day 3: From Haría to Teguise (33 km / 20.5 mi or 52 km / 32 mi)
Leaving Haría behind, cycle through some of the island's most scenic terrain with magnificent views over the coast. Your destination is Teguise, Lanzarote's historic capital, a delightful town of traditional architecture, attractive plazas and inviting cafés. Continue through San Bartolomé and towards the vineyards of La Geria before reaching your accommodation in or near Teguise for a two-night stay.

Day 4: Circular Ride from Teguise (50 km / 31 mi)
Today offers flexibility. Relax in Teguise, explore the surrounding area independently, or enjoy a circular ride towards the spectacular beach of Famara. Beneath dramatic volcanic cliffs, the route follows the coast before crossing expansive lava fields and striking lunar-like landscapes on the return to Teguise.

Day 5: Teguise to Playa Blanca (50 km / 31 mi)
Today's highlight is Timanfaya National Park, the most spectacular volcanic landscape on the island. The catastrophic eruptions of the 18th century transformed large parts of Lanzarote, creating the vast lava fields and volcanoes visible today. Continue south, stopping at the remarkable green lagoon and volcanic crater of El Golfo before arriving in Playa Blanca.

Day 6: Circular Ride from Playa Blanca (36 km / 22.5 mi optional)
A flexible day to enjoy southern Lanzarote. Relax in Playa Blanca, visit the beautiful beaches of Papagayo, or cycle to El Golfo for lunch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There is also the possibility of taking a ferry to Fuerteventura for a day excursion to Corralejo.

Day 7: From Playa Blanca to Arrecife (50 km / 31 mi)
Your final ride returns through the famous wine region of La Geria. The unique cultivation method, where vines are planted in individual hollows protected by stone walls, creates one of the most distinctive agricultural landscapes in the world. After sampling the scenery and perhaps some local wine, descend to the coast and follow the seafront promenade from Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife and its charming harbour district of El Charco.

Day 8: End of programme
After breakfast, a short transfer takes you to Arrecife Airport for your onward journey.

If a listed accommodation is unavailable, a similar alternative will be booked and communicated to you.

How do I get to Lanzarote?
This tour starts on the island of Lanzarote, with arrival and departure via Lanzarote Airport (Arrecife). Airport transfers are included from the airport to your first hotel in Costa Teguise on arrival day and from your hotel in Arrecife to the airport on departure day.
The airport is well connected with mainland Spain and many European cities throughout the year. Visitors travelling from other Canary Islands can generally connect via inter-island flights.
Departure from Arrecife
Your tour ends in Arrecife, the island's capital. After breakfast, a transfer will take you directly to Lanzarote Airport.
Where is Lanzarote?
Lanzarote is the easternmost of Spain's Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 125 km off the coast of Africa. This cycling holiday explores the entire island, from the palm-filled valleys of Haría in the north to the volcanic coast around Playa Blanca in the south.
When to Go?
One of Lanzarote's greatest advantages is its exceptionally mild climate, which allows cycling throughout the year. Warm temperatures, low rainfall and plenty of sunshine make it an ideal destination in every season.
Spring and autumn generally offer the most comfortable cycling conditions, while winter provides a welcome escape from colder northern European weather. Summer is warm but rarely excessively hot thanks to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the trade winds.
Tip: Lanzarote can be windy at any time of year, so a light windproof layer is always recommended.

What gear do I need?
For cycling in Lanzarote, lightweight cycling clothing is suitable for most of the year. The island's roads are generally in excellent condition, but weather conditions can vary throughout the day.
We recommend bringing:

- Lightweight waterproof jacket
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Cycling gloves
- Water bottles
- Casual clothes for evenings
- Swimwear for beaches and hotel pools
Helmets are provided with rental bikes and are compulsory in Spain.
Difficulty & Terrain
This tour is graded Easy to Moderate.
The route follows mostly quiet paved roads with generally good surfaces throughout. Lanzarote is one of the lower-lying Canary Islands, but it is far from flat. Rolling terrain and occasional climbs are part of the experience, particularly on the route to Haría, which is generally considered the most demanding day of the tour.
Most daily rides range between 33 km and 52 km, making the tour suitable for leisure cyclists with a reasonable level of fitness. E-bikes are available for those seeking additional support.

Along the route you cycle through La Geria, one of the world's most unusual wine regions, where vines are grown in volcanic ash pits protected by stone walls. Several local wineries offer tastings of the island's renowned Malvasía Volcánica wines. Other local specialities worth seeking out include artisan goat's cheese, commonly produced on small farms across the island, and fresh Atlantic seafood.

The tour starts in Costa Teguise, passes close to numerous coastal locations and includes time to enjoy the famous beaches of Papagayo, widely considered among the best beaches in the Canary Islands. You can also take advantage of free time in Playa Blanca to relax by the sea or explore hidden coves along the southern coast.
Vegetarian travellers will generally find plenty of options throughout Lanzarote, including fresh fruit, pastries, bread, local cheeses, salads and traditional Canarian vegetable dishes. Lanzarote's restaurants increasingly cater for plant-based diets. Vegan options are available at many accommodations, but choice may sometimes be more limited than for vegetarians. We therefore recommend advising us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking so that hotels can prepare suitable alternatives in advance.
