Day 1: Arrive at Cabo de Gata
Day 2: Route from Agua Amarga to Rodalquilar (19 km / 11,8 mill)
Day 3: Route from Rodalquilar to San José (18 km / 11 mill)
Day 4: Circular walk from San José (16 km / 10 mill)
Day 5: End of the program
Day 1: Arrive at Cabo de Gata
The journey begins in the fishing village of Rodalquilar. If you have spare time, you can enjoy an afternoon by the pool or treat yourself to the hotel spa. The spectacular Playa del Playazo is located near the hotel.
Day 2: Route from Agua Amarga to Rodalquilar (19 km / 11,8 mill)
Transfer by taxi from the hotel to Agua Amarga, where today's route begins. You will first walk along inland trails heading south and then along the coast to Rodalquilar. Crossing and following dry streams (ramblas), you will discover hidden coves. Areas of lush vegetation create surprising oases amidst this semi-desert territory. The route passes through Cala San Pedro, a beautiful bay where a peculiar hippie colony is settled, before reaching Las Negras. From there, you will reach Rodalquilar passing through the impressive El Playazo beach.
Option to shorten the route with 2 optional starting points: Cala del Plomo (15.5 km in total) or Las Negras (6 km in total).
To be done: 19 km / 11,8 mill, 7 h, 530 m ascent, 500 m descent.
Day 3: Route from Rodalquilar to San José (18 km / 11 mill)
This route runs through a pristine area between cliffs where patches of palm groves emerge among the dunes like oases. The gleaming white villages complete this magnificent landscape. Beaches with dark sands and ancient pirate hideouts lead to the next accommodation located in a picturesque fishing village at the foot of Cerro de los Frailes, which at 493 m is the highest peak in Cabo de Gata.
To be done: 18 km, 5 h, 310 m ascent, 330 m descent
Day 4: Circular walk from San José (16 km / 10 mill)
Today you will have the opportunity to visit the most popular beaches in the area, as well as secret coves that can only be accessed on foot - Los Amarillos, Chica, Grande Barranco, Lance de Perro, Playa del Barrón, Media Luna, Los Genoveses, and Monsul. A varied itinerary to end this wonderful week in Cabo de Gata on a high note.
To be done: 16 km, 5.5 hrs, 280 m ascent and descent
Day 5: End of the program
The program ends today after breakfast.

From the airport, you first take a bus to Murcia. There are several services daily and travel time is about 55 minutes. From Murcia you get a bus to Vera. From Vera, you take a taxi to your first accommodation in Rodalquilar.
From Málaga Airport (AGP)
From Málaga Airport, you first take a bus to Almería. There are several services daily and travel time is 3 to 3.5 hours (Timetables at: www.alsa.es)
From Almería, you take a taxi to your first accommodation in Rodalquilar.
From Almería, Granada or Murcia airports

On arrival in Murcia, you take a bus to Vera. There are several services a day and travel time is about 2 hours. Please check timetables at www.alsa.es. From Vera, you take a taxi to your first accommodation.

Return from San José
For flights from Alicante (ALC) or Málaga (AGP)
Travelling back to Alicante, you first take a taxi from San José to Vera (80km, approximately 1 hour). From Vera you get a bus to Murcia. There are several services daily and travel time is about 2 hours. From Murcia you take a bus to Alicante Airport. There are several buses a day and travel time is about 55 minutes. (Timetables at www.alsa.es)
Travelling back to Málaga, you first take a bus from San José to Almería. There are several buses a day Monday to Friday, with fewer services at the weekend. Travel time is about 1 hour (Timetables at: www.autocaresbernardo.com). Next you take a bus from Almería to Málaga Airport. There are several services a day and travel time is 3 to 3.5 hours.
