ITINERARY

Start: Granada Finish: Granada

Day 1: Arrival in the Alpujarras

Day 2: Circular walk from Capileira

Day 3: From Capileira to Granada

Day 4: Departure from Granada

Day 1: Arrival in the Alpujarras

Today you travel to Granada and meet your driver for the transfer to Capileira, chief village of the region, situated at an elevation of 1436 m. Its lovely monuments, tiny squares and narrow lanes recall the village's history as a former Moorish settlement. Settle in at your small mountain hotel and begin to take in the atmosphere.

Day 2: Circular walk from Capileira

Route through the Río Poqueira Valley, from Capileira via Bubion to Pampaneira. You walk among fields, passing ancient threshing circles, with some steep ascents and descents. Enjoying marvellous views all the while.

Challenge: 5 hours, 9 km / 5,5 mi, 560m ascent and descent

Day 3: From Capileira to Granada

Transfer back to Granada this morning, where you'll have a chance to stroll round the city or visit the stunning Alhambra – ancient Moorish fortress which itself merits a visit to Spain. Accommodation this evening at a perfectly-situated hotel, near restaurants and tapas bars in the historic city centre.

Day 4: Departure from Granada

Your program comes to an end this morning after breakfast. Departure from Granada airport or Malaga airport.
