Self-guided Bike Tours
The Via Francigena is a pilgrim trail that stretches from the Aosta Valley in the north, right down the spine of Italy, finishing up in the Eternal City of Rome. We have devised the perfect route to tackle the Via Francigena by bike, so that you can enjoy the rolling Tuscan hillsides, the subtle contrasts between the Italian regions and the sense of completion as you pedal into the glorious city of Rome at the end.
The route is split down into three sections, going from north to south. The first stage will take you from the glorious high peaks of the Aosta Valley, down through the vineyards of Piedmont to finish up in the delectible city of Parma. On stage two you will leave Parma and cycle through some of the most spectacular Tuscan towns, all joined together by the classic rolling hills of the region. The final section takes you from the magical city of Siena through some of the most iconic historic sights in Italy to finish up in the centre of Rome. One trip, three stages, a lifechanging experience.
