Day 1: Arrival in Belvès
On your arrival you'll be welcomed to a small and charming hotel, right in the center of Belvès.
Discover the magic of this village, a Medieval gem in the heart of the Dordogne. Wander cobblestone streets, savor local delicacies in vibrant markets, and dine in intimate bistros as the sun sets over rolling hills. Immerse yourself in history with ancient architecture and underground caves.
Day 2: Circular walk from Belvès (17,5 km / 11 mi)
A lovely circular walk right from the hotel's front door. From Belvès, the relief deepens, the forest occupies the first part of the route and then the views gradually open out over the Dordogne valley that the path overlooks. After the ridge-top villages of Saint-Germain-de-Belvès and Cladech, the descent to the valley begins through cultivated fields, offering fine views over the valley. Back at the hotel, there'll be time to relax or have a drink on one the terraces of Belvès. Why not try a glass of crisp, local Monbazillac wine as an aperitif. In the evening enjoy another tasty dinner in of the restaurants in the village.

Day 3: From Belvès to Cadouin (15 km /9 mi)
Relaxing walk from Belvès to another medieval village: Cadouin, built around an imposing 12th century Cistercian Abbey. This walk is not just a journey; it's a passage through time and nature, a seamless blend of exploration and tranquility that promises an unforgettable experience. Discover the allure of the Dordogne, one step at a time. The route leads you through lush forests. Catch glimpses of centuries-old stone bridges and quaint hamlets, each with its own story to tell. In autumn you'll find a palette of unlikely yellow, red and golden colours and you'll have a wide range of wild fruits to choose from (blackberries, raspberries, hazelnuts and chestnuts).
At the end of the day, you arrive at your next accommodation: La Salvetat de Cadouin.

Day 4: Circular walk from Cadouin (13 km / 8 mi)
Today has been left free to do as much or as little as you like. You may choose to spend your time relaxing on the terrace or visit the nearby imposing 12th-Century Cistercian Abbey. Alternatively, you can enjoy a 13 kilometre walk through the nearby woodland. Tonight you will choose a place for dinner from among the fine local restaurants in the village.

Day 5: From Montferrand-du-Périgord to Monpazier (15 km / 9,5 mi)
This morning you start off with a transfer to the picturesque honey-coloured village of Montferrand-du-Périgord. Today’s route is a beautiful and varied trek along narrow trails through undulating wheat fields, woodlands full of roe deer and wild boar and past monumental farmhouses. Your day ends at the small 13th-Century ‘bastide’ of Monpazier. Built by Edward I, it was also home to Richard II for a time and is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Your accommodation for the next two nights is in a spectacular 19th-Century chateau on the edge of the village. Once again, the dinners served at this hotel are unlikely to disappoint.

Day 6: Circular walk from Monpazier (13 - 18 km / 8 - 11 mi)
Your last day of walking might be the most beautiful route of the program: a splendid walking tour to Château Biron and an optional visit to this imposing Medieval castle. We can stop for lunch at the “auberge”. Along the way, you'll enjoy a true painter’s palette of quintessential Perigord landscapes.

Day 7: Au revoir Monpazier!
After a typical French breakfast your trip comes to an end.

Lasting from the XIth and XIIh centuries, this former village grocery shop has been transformed into a 3 stars hotel. The rooms on the back benefit from an extraordinary view on the surrounding countryside. All the bedrooms offer individual air conditioning.
Cdh La Salvetat de Cadouin (Cadouin)
La Salvetat de Cadouin is a former 12th century presbytery built on 14 hectares of meadow and woods in the Forest of Bessède, which was once an inn, has now become a guest house. You will have a 12 X 6m outdoor swimming pool and quality products from small producers in the region.
Hotel Edward I**** (Monpazier)
Comfortable 19th century petit-chateau hotel. Set in the heart of the Dordogne, Hotel - Restaurant Edward 1er is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view over the surrounding rolling countryside.

"The trip was excellent"

"We traveled with a group of friends. It was easy and beautiful walk with nice hotels to stay in. We walked it in the middle of September - unfortunately it was a bit too hot but , except first day, there was enough shadow on the route. Beautiful views guaranteed. We especially enjoyed our stay in the first place in Cote Rivage in Badefols-Sur-Dordogne. Warmest hospitality, amazing food, comfortable rooms and sunsets over the river each evening during the dinner. S-Cape organized everything perfectly."

"Walking in Dordogne is a great experience. The best thing about is that anybody can do it. We went with 3 small kids, you don't have to be an experienced hiker or super athlete to walk the trail proposed. It's safe and easy to plan. The route is not marked very well, however the maps provided together with the GPS tracking files makes it very simple to manage. Dordogne surprised us by its beauty - and we have hiked many trails in Italy and Spain. The scenery is awesome. And the hotels chosen by Scape were really nice."
