Travel to Vienna. After checking in to the hotel go to the city centre, where you will enjoy the sight the marvellous St. Stephen’s and taste a slice of the world-famous (and well deserved!) Sachertorte.

Day 2:    Vienna to Bratislava (68 km)

Hand over of rental bikes directly at hotel (100 m  to  the cycling  path).  Start  cycling  in  the  metropolis of  Vienna but  soon  find  yourself  in  the  verdancy  of  the  national park “Donauauen”. Passing Schönau and Orth castle to the Habsburg castle of Eckartsau. A detour to castle Hof is  recommended  (magnificent  castle  which  was  built  at  the behest  of  the  Austrian  empress  Maria  Theresia;  its  impressive  park (65.000  m²)  and  the  gorgeous  architectural  monuments  are definitely worth a visit). Via Hainburg to Bratislava.

Day 3:    Bratislava to Mosonmagyaróvár (45 km)

Free  time  to  do  some  sight-seeing  in  Bratislava;  you leave  the capital of Slovakia while cycling along a very beautiful  cycling  path.  You  continue  cycling  and  soon cross  the  Slovakian/Hungarian  border  near  Kunovŏ;  via Dunasziget  (in  the  past  the  village  was  located  on  an island in the middle of the Danube) you reach the small town of Mosonmagyaróvár.

Day 4:    Mosonmagyaróvár to Györ (45 km)

Cycle  tour  to  Hedervár castle  and  further  on,  partly along  the  idyllic  Danube  to  Györ,  the  “metropolis”  of west-Hungary. Individual sightseeing in Györ.

Day 5:    Györ to Komárno (64 km)

On  the  country  road  to  the  border  H/SK,  to  Medvedov and  on  the  very  beautiful  Slovakian  bank  to  the baroque  city  Cicov  and  further  via  Zlatna  to  the Slowakian/Hungarian city Komárno/Komárom.

Day 6:    Komárno to Visegrád (69 km)

Over  the  bridge  back  to  the  Slovakian  part  of  the  city; passing  the  Roman  fort  Kelemantia  and  lonesome farming  villages,  where  time  seems  to  stand  still,  you reach  Moča  and  the  twin  village  of  Štúrovo/Esztergom; Across  the  well-known  Gisela-bridge  to  Esztergom (possibility  to  visit  the  cathedral/it’s  free  of  charge); further  on  along  the  right  bank  of  the  Danube  all  the way  until  the  village  Bùbàntvölgy,  following  again  the cycle  path  for  approx.  4,5  km.  Cycle  tour  down  to  the ferry (signed at the cycle path). Cycling on the left bank of  the Danube  to Nagymaros, catching a ferry boat  (to be paid directly at the ferry station; approx. EUR 2,70 pp) to Visegrád.

Day 7:    Visegrád to Budapest (45 km)

Cycle tour to Szentendre-Island. Continue the tour again by  ferry  to  Szentendre-City  (about  20  km  before Budapest).  Individual  sight-seeing;  by  bike  to  the  city centre of the Hungarian capital Budapest.
